Clocks

by David Maurice

I lay you days
away like something
special
that can't be bought
all at once

You notice
I know your kind
eyes follow
the arc hands
make upon a face

I never know what enough is
because
I never know what enough is

Like something special
I lay the days away

Surprisingly delightful. I shall read it many times.

I like this very much both for its simplicity and profoundity.

Really a thoughtful piece. Stanza 2 with the arc of hands upon the face is sensual in a gently moving way, in fact the whole poem takes its time (pun intended) with that wonderful sense of 'never ending' in stanza 3. Thanks for this.
