Night and Day

by George Hoerner

my heart is like the moon
half light and half dark
of course its course
sometimes shows less
and sometimes more light

but from earth we never
see more than half
of it light at any time
my heart is the same

part light part dark
the light reaching
always for someone
to shine light
on the dark side

but like a blind person
not seeing any change
between light and dark
my heart is unable
to tell the difference either

I agree with Clara Mae, George, Stellar (no pun intended) in light of this latest lunar eclipse. A very strong presentation, and heading straight for my favorites.

half dark half light, that is good enough for me. I wouldn't have it any other way, save when you are talking about a cup o' joe. In that case, there is no room for any kind of light, as I prefer my cup completely dark. However when we are talking outer the realms of a cup of java, there is no alternative way to operate but in an environment which makes room and slight variances for both and only when one is contrasted with the other is either possible.
