What The Luck Is Hello by Philip F De Pinto
Everyone
In this wide world
And narrow
Is well versed
In waving hello
And goodby
Hello
Goodby
Hello goodby
Which we will continue to wave
Until such time as we put an end
To things as need
To be put out of their
Misery
As everything
In between those two
Have nothing to do with greetings
Or farewells
But with going
And lucking ourselves
And what the luck is hello
But it is a bad omen
And never enough
To start something
As will endure
And what the luck is goodby
But as bad an omen
And never enough
To fill or empty our cup
Or put an end
To what has never begun
Always in the wake of each
Something remains
Like a regret
Like a sun set
Which you never rose
To witness
Too preoccupied as you were
In such verse as thinks
To wave hello
And goodby

Posted by George Hoerner on 03/23/14 at 06:13 PM Is that not part of life Philip. We say good luck to those leaving for a new start or new adventure. Hello's or goodbye's are of a different nature. Hello to a passerby may just be an attempt to say "I am not a threat". All depending upon context. Yes, much of what we do in attempting or not to engage someone in this world is so complicated. No one seems to "open up" without a struggle. Hello for me is just a beginning of what could develop if one is only willing to open themselves to accepting the good and the bad if either is in the 0ne unknown. Most today seem to prefer letting the unknown stay as such. |
