Self-Satisfaction by Joe Cramerself-satisfaction
is merely a distraction
from what you want
and what you achieve
I believe
that this relief
becomes nothing more
than self-indulgence
of a feeling, an emotion
that springs forth
with little or any devotion
from within
when will it ever end 12/30/2013 Author's Note: ... all things slow down.....

| Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 12/30/13 at 03:06 PM As a man, I can tell you firsthand, the answer is never. I can say with reasonable conviction that such preoccupation is not so much indulging the self as it is a poor substitute for love, love which for whatever reason is not at our beck and call. Thus when such a kitten as is love is away the mice will play, so the saying goes. But there is no genuine joy in the mice when they do, much preferring the kitten be present and accounted for. |
