Baby Do We Care by Philip F De Pinto
More
Or less
Than salt which shoulder
We fling it over?
Baby do we dare learn the ropes
Dare grow older
Blow polluted air
On each others hopes
Untie the love me knot
Say we don't care
For what the garroting market can bear
But what it cannot?
Baby do we care
Dare
Say our caring borders
On the infantile - confide to walls
At last
Admit our love for too much ballast
Doesn't float?
Or walls admit to us
More
Or less
That it was not so much coats
Of paint we were applying but multiple gag orders
Not to make revelatory our despair
That is why we paint walls
Not for aesthetics sake
But because we have not been living the life of saints

Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 11/25/13 at 04:28 PM I like this very much Phil. Catchy construction and message(s) throughout. Obviously a lot of thought/emotion and care went into this. Happy Thanksgiving Day to you and yours. |
