Whiskey from a Tea Cup

by Kevin Fehlen

The whiskey in his tea cup was ever so sweet and milky
For it would seem he'd forgotten to drain the cold
clotted juice from the bottom before pouring off
a dram to drown the time
Before he would surrender to sleep
and drift off into lands far away
from the corrupt reality he wished
would drain away like so much tea
and whiskey at the bottom of a cup.

I like the way this loops back, the "cold clotted juice," the "dram to drown the time." Congrats on POTD!
