a bad mistake by Emily Davidsoni will surrender my agenda
if we can sit close enough—
a beggars-can't-be-choosers
kind of love;
maybe if you wanted this
as much as i do
i wouldn't need it
love is dumb;
i can insist that i like
men with accountability
integrity, maturity, devotion
but find myself knee-deep
in my desires for a man who
has the radiant but challenged heart of
a 16-year-old at best
and despite the logic i use to talk
myself out of the trap
i only lure myself deeper
can i throw away everything i've learned?
i would.
i wish i never saw him with his glasses off
i wish i didn't know how soft his hands are
i am seduced by possibility
logic can't save me
i'm in love enough to
make a bad mistake 09/29/2013 Posted on 10/01/2013 Copyright © 2025 Emily Davidson

Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 03/30/15 at 12:29 PM this is a lovely ode, concerning Love which may or may not have a low I.Q. nevertheless, I'll take it over anything supposedly intelligent or rational ever devised. |
