Odd questions on rainy days

by Shannon McEwen

Fat raindrops fall in perfect tandem
Mingle with completely random
Cold salty droplets
Falling from here to someplace else

Between the lines
And across the pages
Somewhere from Beginning
To unknown end wages

The uncertain truths
Mingled with the lies
Broken promises and shattered ties

Masked by sated sighs
The constant need for why’s
And the never-ending
Moment of realization

Am I who and what I seem?
Is it more or less that
Hides behind this mask?

Or just some kind of mixed up
Crazy sort of dream?

Excellent poem brought about by thoughtful/relevant introspection. Think we've all been there. I know I have.
