I saw the swastika in Nepal in the 60's in a Buddhist connotation, not knowing before that that symbol was used by them. It was a hard thing to absorb and I realized my mind could not get away from the Nazi use of it. As to the poem, there is something about the use of the word "one" that focuses this perfectly on Hitler's single mindedness. The word "different" probably would have been totally unacceptable to him, and the use of it here clashes perfectly.
