Shadow of sky by Keith D Allison
The sweet winds upon the crest
where you rest
remember the time
when the blood did flow
an the fire fell from the sky
the West was ours to roam
dark was your hair
like the rock that flames
the cool of the night
brought the buffaloes robe
oh
for the taste
for the breath
of the days of freedom
once more
when the sparkle in your eyes was the world
your smile brought joy
the children's like birds
laughter sang

Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 01/10/13 at 12:20 AM Beautiful poetry Mr. RagTag. Love the spiritual tone, and the buffaloes robe adds a nice native flare to it. |
