Monikers and Unmentionables by Kristina Woodhillin island there is no ācā
no double-u to onder hy
two kinds of aa's, ee's, eyes, oo's, uu's, and yy's
double dd's and a very intimate Ć
but absolutely no double-u to onder hy
law prescribes in the island with no 'c'
a name list
acceptable
pronounceable
letterally inscribable
no Moon Units, Dweezles, or Fuzzbots allowed
at home here
where breezes whoosh wind through my wheezes
side by side with what, when, how, whither, weather, and who,
wonder wanders with will, winks wickedly at why
we birth
politicians named Pro-life
all on a Memphis Eve
from Heaven above
seasoned with Sage Moonblood
sung low, sung low before Jermagesty
yet smack dab in the middle
of this nameful ocean bonanza
I confess, our very own island has no 's'

Since reading that article, I've decided to rename my cat 'dog poo' (she has an incredibly robust digestive system)...
Oh yeh; forgot to mention: brilliant poem. |
