Twelve Twelve Twelve by Ken HarnischSo the chauffeur smiled
And said, tomorrow is 12-12-12
And I said yeah.
And he said, well, not only
Is it my birthday but it’s
The last time anyone living will ever see
Twelve twelve twelve
On their calendars
And I said yeah
And he said, it’s not only my birthday,
But nine is my lucky number
And when I didn’t say anything this time he said
One and two, one and two, one and two
They add up to nine, man
And I said yeah
And then while we were thinking about it
I said, it’s nine days to the end of the world, too
And the chauffeur blanched and said,
C’mon man, that’s just superstition.
It ain’t really gonna happen
And I said yeah

Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 12/12/12 at 02:38 PM Ha! Last night as we drifted off to sleep, my man said, "If we stay awake just a little longer, it will be 12-12-12-12-12. " We didn't but it was anyway. I enjoyed this, Ken. |
Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 12/12/12 at 04:02 PM Love the mixture of humour, humanity, and occult in this one Ken. As I was remarking to Alison Mckenzie earlier, the date kinda snuck up on me today when I checked my computer's calendar; 121212, but I didn't realize it's also only 9 days till the 21st and you know what. Now that's spooky! |
Posted by George Hoerner on 12/12/12 at 11:52 PM I hate to start anything but is this something like believing in god?? I know a group of educated men who meet each Thuday for lunch an talk about why it is "dumb" or illogical to believe in god. So instead they "believe" in "science". Based upon where "science" has gotten us so far I'm not sure what I believe. Good write Ken. |
