Return Of The Jedi

by Chris Sorrenti

I bathe myself
in positive thoughts
to strengthen what innocently
has been stumbled upon

move objects
without touching them
sense the presence of someone
before entering a room

decades of meditation
writing poetry
unexpected dividends
causing a stranger to look at me
hear a loved one call my name
without saying a word

convinced the mind is like the body
the more one exercises
the stronger it gets

thoughts drifting to George Lucas
an ancient religion
in a galaxy far far away
and how years ago
I too was seduced by the dark side

now able to see a lie
leave a perpetrator’s lips
the charlatans on TV
never to know the real future

perhaps it’s time to reestablish
the old order
whose credo was the reverse of
‘seeing is believing’
and how that which is invisible
binds the entire universe
can still be tapped

I enjoyed this exploration of mind and matter. It gives me the sense of deeply connecting with others.

Good stuff this one. That final verse sets my mind upon recent revelations about dark-matter and dark-energy...feels like you where way ahead of your time with these ideas presented here. Thanks.
