A Sandy shores Shazam (PAD) by A. Paige WhiteUp In the hills, post-surgery,
we shivered in the remains
Most had rains,
we had snow;
eight inches or so
And lost all power, lights, heat; at four.
We had no news, no way to go
but still could not ignore
another larger twister
Some say she was a kissin’ cousin
But I see Sandy as a litter sister
to hillbilly hurricane, Shazam.
She’s left another dog-gone mess.

Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 11/04/12 at 03:15 PM I'm not familiar with the Shazam reference. I like your use of "post surgery" in this. I hope you have power by now? Great last line. |
