If I Can Write Poetry, So Can You

by Bertram Sparagmos

I like the wind
It feels good on my teeth
The cows like the wind
It feels good on their beef

Most of us have our philosophy of existence although many if not most don't put into words often. But we show it every day by how we live. I happen to believe that "the universe" does not care one way or the other. It just does its thing.

Teeth and beef, eh? The simplicity is ecstatic. The title of the poem fits. Welcome to Pathetic!

Cool poem. I like the subtle connection between title and text, and the powerful corolation between teeth and beef. Makes me want to cook a roast, and connect my own teeth to the beef.

as prejudicial as this might appear, I think poetry is inherent and is inaccessible to the average layman on the street. in my opinion, neither poetry nor art can be taught, and cant swing if it ain't got that inherent thing/seed, no matter how rich the educational, instructional and nurturing soil might be, if there is no inherent seed, there is no budding poet in my opinion, but that is a matter for discussion. on the other hand, I love your poem. that is why I believe I did so poorly at math, not because I was mathematically dense, rather that I had neither talent or inclination for it.

Teeth, beef, and wind. A BBQ on a windy day? Cow stuck in the teeth? Interesting read.
