Birdsong

by Marjorie Anne Reagan

Birds Song touches my heart
like a rainbow to my eyes
so to my ears

How it lifts me up
away from all care
elevating dreary thought
to skies

what a simple
tiny little thing
this song from a fine feathered friend

never cease singing
it is the truest freedom
of any one with a voice

like diamonds yours is
the notes that you sing
seem to rare and true

Beautiful like a song should be.

Wonderful expression MA. As a life long bird watcher, and of course listener, this acts as a strong reminder of how empty the world would be without birds, both for their singing and high place on the food chain.

Charming and fresh. That 4th stanza really nails their gift. Thanks for this.
