Mother's Day 2012 by Joan SerratelliI woke up early
as usual.
I went into
the kitchen
and found it there
the dress I wanted
He bought it for me
I love it!
I'll wear it
this week
(with a cap sleeve top)
in the summer
(with a tank top)
I'm probably going to
wear it on my birthday
(with an appropriate top)
I will wear it
in the Fall
(with a long sleeve top)
I will wear it
in the winter
(with a light sweater)
and tights
I love this dress
It's the dress
I wanted
I'll be the FIRST
to say it
I am a HORRIBLE
clothes horse
I love clothes...
But... I love you
...MORE!
And everytime
I wear it
I will remember
that you bought it
for me
Not because I
NEEDED it
simply because
I wanted it
and you knew
it would make
me happy.
The card was
very fitting
I will always
cherish it
But what I really
CHERISH is you
We have been through
alot
We are still together
after(ALMOST) 45 years
I think that
says it all
You could have
other woman
but I'm STILL here
I still love you
Yes, we have our
ups and downs
but we are still together
...and we always will be 05/13/2012
Author's Note: My Mother's Day dress was waiting for me this morning. AGAIN- I hardly need more clothes, but he knew I REALLY wanted this jumper dress...and it meant the world to me that he bought it. I could not have gotten a more thoughful present!
...and for once; a happy little poem.
BTW- HAVE A GREAT MOTHER'S DAY!

| Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 05/14/12 at 04:19 PM Joan. Yes, Happy Mother's Day! My Mother's Day was quiet...surreal, with both my parents now gone, and girlfriend recently moved out...but I ain't complaining. I've been longing for the serenity. :) |
