x .....(blank)...

by Amy Manning

x ........... fell into a puddle and came out the other side.

West coasters say x ........... climbed up a Sequoia and came down lookin' just fine. He died a while back and when they cut him up they found tree rings inside.

I heard x ............... ate a boiled egg that was actually the yolk and got taken for the white and was eaten from the inside out.

x .............. knew how to pick a crop duster from the sky using his finger and thumb and put it in my infant palm, small as a star burst.

The x ................ made a miniature version of himself that then made a miniature version of itself thereby starting a chain that will one day destroy us all.

The biggest nose that anyone knows belonged to x ................... , so big it determined the weather in Salt Lake City for the whole spring of '32.

x .............. was such a fine popular woman who got kisses like junk mail. Her lips were overused and at 27 her cupid's bow got wood rot.

x .................... sang to her belly when she was pregnant with the offspring of a drifter. The babe came out with soul on his lips and wanderlust embedded down deep.

And at the end of time x .............. will reach right through and pull it inside out, starting us all over again.

there seems to be something missing here, which makes this a more powerful piece. thank you for sharing.

Some wonderfully imaginative stuff here - really enjoyed this.

The stuff of great legends in the making here. The "x" idea is intriguing and I even like that I don't know the "who" . Thanks for this.

Quite the imaginative piece of work. Adds new meaning to "sign on the dotted line." All in all, a fun read, neat delving into (surreal) alternate realities.

Great choice for POTD!
