my me-suit

by Vivienne Grant

my me-suit’s out of shape
been in a box with tape on
for ages
all the laugh-bubbles’ve been squashed flat
it has wrinkles and has faded
the opinions are outdated

bits of it fit
but it looks so ridiculous
it’s a mess
need a seamstress
or someone to maybe just show me
how to unpick it
mend the holes
and re-assemble the usable bits

then soak it in me-suit solution
solve all my problems
and dissolve all confusion

Bravo! mine's kinda threadbare itself, now that I look at it...excellent "weave" here, Vivienne!

I love reading your poems. They feel immensely real to me.

This flows fast and fun. The squashed-flat laugh bubbles is a great image. I really like the idea of a seamstress making something of the "me-suit". Thanks for this!

this made me smile and grimace at the same time at my "me suit", but it's those "imperfections" that makes us who we are:P

let me know if you find that me-suit solution. sounds like we could all use a soak.

A clever thought provoking concept well expressed!
