On the occasion of my maiden voyage
through the aesthetic straits,
I was advised that 'a successful poem
does not end with the last line'.

Being well-versed in the literal
I took this statement at face value
and reciprocated its inscrutable smile
for want of a knowing eye.

Following the flawed logic of my original
transliteration, I proposed that an effective
line does not necessarily require a finite 
and that even individual words are not 
to the constraints of completio  .

Several years of vanity lapsed before my
