When will it be done? by Shannon McEwenThe list sits expectantly
Somewhere between
Wishes and dreams
Demanding attention
Throwing a tantrum
Until the only possible choice
Is to heed its billboard
Scribbled in red crayon
That the end is never coming
Hope haemorrhages
From cracked nails
As one item is erased
Another four jump on
Join the protest
Unwashed and unrepentant
Yet another thing to do
Before the wishes
And the dreams
That patiently linger
Knowing deep down
It’s a fruitless vigil

| Posted by Glenn Currier on 11/12/11 at 04:55 PM Yeah, I know the feeling. I like you poetic expression of this phenomenon. I especially like the lines about the wishes and dreams patiently lingering. Very well said. Thanks a bunch, Shannon. |
