It's as simple as "I'm sorry"

by Shannon McEwen

I am in need of your sincere desire
Sweet wishes blown into passions kisses
Where panic hides and love nearly misses
Instead of this increasingly cold ire
Use these simple words to ignite this fire
Rather than awkwardly muttered hisses
Or barbs that one too quickly dismisses
Let’s tell the truth and call out the liar
Follow me to the place where we can be
Grab hold of my hand and please don’t let go
Will you open your heart and say the word?
Trust me baby and you will justly see
Worship my psyche from head to baby toe
Kiss me soundly and leave these tears unheard

Author's Note: only my third ever attempt at a sonnet - very rusty - I suck at iambic pentameter

...Shannon, very nicely done, Sista...and your iambia handles itself well. the individual reading iambic pentameter really needs to practice, as iambic is subtle stresses too. good work in my humble opine.

I do like your modern sonnet approach and the sentiment is well-remembered. These two words can melt a stone wall.
