Joshua

by Joan Serratelli

Welcome to the world
little boy

We've been waiting for you
I've never seen you
but I love you

You were an accident
Fated to be

You will grow

You have a great Mom
a loving Father
and the cutest, brighest
4 year old brother
in the world

I am your Grandmother
I would die for you

I love you baby boy
I hope you love me too

Be good to your Mother
She is precious
and fragile

She means the world to me

Mazeltov! How sweet they are. Nice to read this from you and to know your family is growing.

Proves to me again (as if I needed it, Joan) that you never were or could be a "hack."

Quite lovely.

I like the way this ends, with a special request from the grandmother. Something I'm sure all grandmothers and grandfathers hope for.
