We Are Magnicifent, Together by Alison McKenzieIt was a honeysuckle sunset
On a late summer evening.
I was riding,
No,
Flying.
I’d left my hair down
For the occasion, and
The Wind wore
His favorite lullaby voice;
His delicate fingers
Danced through the soft
Wavey locks;
Tickled my neck
With those harmonies;
Held me, precious.
I leaned into
The river walk
And it seemed as if
Every angel,
Even the ones who travel
By motor-home,
Were lined up on along the river bank,
In awe, every one of them,
Their grateful eyes
Applauding;
Imploring the Sun, "Wait,
Just one more refrain, please!"
To which the Sun sang
A most moving rendition of
“We are magnificent, together”
To which the birds unabashedly answered,
“Yes, YES, we are…”
