What if Copernicus, Darwin, and Newton
had let their fears of rejection
keep them from letting loose
their unorthodoxy
on the world?

How improbable her massive weak force
paired with his strong
transforming their sun
making generations whose brightness
grows oceans of new life
and forests of green gaga
mixing it up
down in the muck.

There in that zoo of particles -
finding themselves allies -
doublets of positive strangeness
and naked charm
top to bottom
are hidden in the quarkiness
deeper than you can imagine.

It is a powerful tiny truth
that we humans move around
attracting each other when a little distance apart
but repel
when squeezed into one another.

What kind of accelerator
will we need
to find the flavor
of our massless love,

the vibration
the heat
sound

and
light

?
