Flight Plan

by Kristina Woodhill

Zinnia
barely settled in
earth hugs tightly
now until
now until

Zinnia
vibrant petals slim
branching out
spaces fill
spaces fill

Zinnia
color palette bright
senses dazzled
brush along
blush along

Neighborhood
anon a-light
bumbling legs
stum, stum-ble,
stum-ble head long

Your landing strips are so clearly lit
a flight from “A” to you
bowls over the other twenty four
with one long
humming rush
of sun-warmed
summer wings.

Appears to be a hummingbird among the zinnia! Colorful and lively.

As you may already know, anything to do with flight I love, and this poem is no exception. Fun, colorful read, and to top it off, I learned a new species of flower today! :o)
