Fast Food by Drew MaySoles
sequenced
on marble tile,
repetitious dance creates
micromanaged activities summarizing
morally bankrupt creature's mechanized response.
For here or to go? 05/27/2011 Author's Note: There is nothing wrong with eating out, but find a place owned locally, with some soul and character. The amount of sterility and sadness you witness in big chain eateries almost merits it's own film.

Posted by Gregory R Schelske on 04/06/12 at 09:29 AM Love it...mostly because I know this place so well.
You have no idea the many truths that hide behind this piece.
I am an American living in Kuwait (a country where 95% of the workforce are East Indian and Filipino expats).
EVERY fast food chain in the state of Kuwait is staffed by Filipinos. These poor men and woman work well over two hundred hours a month for less than $400. Once they were hopeful romantics called to a "better life". Now they are robots crusted with slavery. They work to survive...that is it. |
Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 10/11/14 at 12:13 PM congratulations on POTD. I agree, as the appetite is local and soulful and character driven, so should the eatery be. |
