Familiarity... by Chris Sorrenti
breeds contempt
so the idiom states
or in the immortal words of Jean-Paul Sartre
"Hell is other people"
rushing about with too much...
not enough on their minds
totally oblivious of those around them
whether walking or driving
failing to properly merge
“Get out of my way or I’ll run you down”
with all their quirks, idiosyncrasies, bad habits
Hell???...sometimes I can’t stand myself!
having learned to use the term ‘friendship’
carefully...loosely
become a recluse in my own unique way
when I don’t have to be out ‘there’
bouncing back and forth between
introvert and extrovert
and though I don’t profess to be a sociopath
psychopath...serial killer
there’s still time for me yet
MMMWWWAHAHAHA

Posted by David Hill on 04/11/11 at 11:36 PM I know these feelings well, curmudgeon that I am fast becoming. I loved this line, which sort of jumped off the page: Hell??? ... sometimes I can’t stand myself.
Just shake your fist and call them hippies. |

Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 04/17/11 at 11:49 AM This is what I would label as grim humor! It is like laughing when seeing someone slip on a banana peel. Though not really funny makes one laugh at its incongruity! This will stay with me for awhile! |
Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 04/18/11 at 12:38 AM I did not expect the ending. Well done, you maniac (not really). :) You set the ending up well. Ha! |
