literary animals

by Chris Sorrenti

 photo moon1RED.jpg

for the first time
words unnecessary...

our mouths meet hungrily
lips teeth and tongues
in urgent union soon taste
every corridor and crevice
of one another’s meter and form
transcending the poetry
that has brought us together
intellect joyously left behind
in mating compose
the ultimate poem
our cries of passion
creating a language all its own
to make werewolves
shudder in their illiteracy

in the days that follow
the passion cools
solidifies into words
as separately we write
in academic celebration
of what has passed...

the untamed poems to come

But having love and lost..isn't that fodder for many a fine line in poetic time? Brilliant Chris and love the visual!

You sure know how to take names while kicking a little literary ass. Unbelievable, man.

I realized I'd rated this, but not commented. I love where this takes my mind. I admire the very clever vocabulary and these lines are so brilliant - "creating a language all its own to make werewolves shudder in their illiteracy". Thank you!
