The issue here is innocence,
a demons adequate friend.
To kill eight decades, only to learn
we can have access, to have no desire.

Ten years as a reference
to the art of scaring children,
and the weak and defenceless
that threaten our agreements,
he stood with his hand
away from his heart
and felt no remorse
for his treacherous past.

Now the criminal hides
inside of every living thing
that has understood happiness
and the difficulty it brings.
It defends its position
with deadly implications,
whilst my villain cowers
and attacks from within.

A snivelling deserter
on a planet of kings,
a war of the mind
and of heart, and of death.
The end is unavoidable,
but if this is a game
I'm neither indifferent
nor aggressively vain.

The issue here is ego,
an angels greatest fear.
Spend a lifetime fighting,
I'd rather not be here.
