all along by Philippa Janewe walked for miles
to arrive here,
trudging weary feet through
battlefields and broken hearts.
i traveled for years
just to see your face
before i even knew
your name, and then
there you were, eyes bright
and focused upon mine, and
here we are.
i lived a lifetime
without you only to discover
you were there
all along;
like the sun nestled above
a cloudy sky, i found you
tucked within the familiarity
of day, then night, then
day again. you are in every sentence
of a story that knows no ending,
only pages filled with:
i want you
i need you
i love you
i do. 08/21/2010 Author's Note: For Lisa and Scott.

Posted by Gregory R Schelske on 12/29/12 at 12:23 PM REMARKABLE PERFECT. This simple serenade - this soft-spoken message from the heart is my new favorite. I wish I had written this only because these are the words I have been searching for. THIS is me. Thank you for sharing! |
