Future

by George Hoerner

time i say
be gone
i’ve had
enough of thee
no longer will
i measure
your seconds

i shall watch
instead the sun
sending light
into life
let color
surround
enmesh all

washing
through the
black holes
of my space
to ensnare
past particles
of life laid out
before me

as through
the magic mirror
i relive the lives
of past loves
and losses
of past lies
and truths
let the future
take me
where it will

Very nice George. I like how this poem's train of thought meanders down the page. Sure can relate to it also.

What a wonderful attitude! Time be gone, indeed!

I like the sense of acceptance and humility and then the climactic surrender in the last stanza. This feels both well-aged and fresh. Thanks, George.

I relate to the desire for time to begone myself too. Ride that future wave, dear poet.
