The new washing machine

by Linda Fuller

looms black and high
tech in the service
porch, spits and spurts
suds squeezed
from clothes wrung and spun
out thru the black hose
into the white sink
but
it was the old
machine I leaned
myself against
the vibrations
before I knew what
they were

I will never quite think of doing laundry in the same way ever again. Good write lady.

Chaotic, fun write. I liked it a lot.

*grin* Some things should never go out of style, eh?

...what a treatise on linebrea kage. a creation of a fun-ride in the way you drop us off at each ledge, to make meaning...i see, feel, wonder about[that vibrating before you knew what they were] A GENIUS LINE. when you discovered that, when that line came to mind, were there lightning bolts and all...what platform to step on to from the above line...'leaned myself against'...those lil' feelings and thoughts about the world, i.e. 'what's it all about Alfie? kind of thingee, you pegged on of those delightful feeling moments...i'm envious.

LOL! At first I thought this was just an exercise in machinery descriptiveness, and then I read that second part, and it all made well worded and clever sense. Very courageous Linda. Well done!

Enjoyed the word and line breaks in this and delighted in "the vibrations". Cleverly marrying the everyday with that which moves us basically. Thank you.
