Persecution

by Joan Serratelli

I live in an

unforgiving world

I am not allowed

to have thoughts

I live in a world

filled with stalkers

who do not

understand me

I am an ordinary

person with

aspirations

that will NEVER

be fulfilled

Who's to blame?

ME!

I was conceived

out of love

I am "Saturday's child"

I was born handicapped

but will fight

til the end

I'm not a quitter

Go for the best

and get it

06/06/2010

Author's Note: THANK G-D! Having a handicap has made me a better person.

It can make us stronger...I've always thought, that which corrodes the souls of the persecuted is the monstrous inner agreement with the prevailing prejudice against them. Mostly unescapable, but never painless. Peace.

What a miracle you are - to find the light and the victory in the struggle - to be the beautiful person you are in a world who is blind to it. Blessings to you for being sighted in a world whose vision is so shallow and fogged. Keep on writing, Joan. Thanks for your gift.

Strong reminder that no matter the handicap, we still have the ability to make our own world and the world as a whole a better place.

"Stalkers who do not understand me"...indeed we are stalked by so much ideals that do not understand us. How loevly you put this. And what strength you show in this. Well done.
