Listen 2

by George Hoerner

on which
planet
will i find
a
universal
language

it is
right
in
front
of you
everyone
knows it
but me

i hear
only
those
speaking
with the
thunder
sticks
and
stones
speaking
language
everyone
seems
to know

then
shall
i
use
touch
shelter
food
water
warmth
to speak

i listen
to the
birds
but
cannot
fly

i plant
flowers
but
cannot
root
myself

i watch
the elk
but
cannot
match
their
speed

i spoke
and you
did not
understand
my lips
moved again
but only
nonsense
spewed forth

i must
learn
a new
language

but i am
ignorant of
language
so i should
remain
silent
and
listen
more

...you speak with no forked-tongue, Bi-PedMan; this Earth, this Orb has fractured language. it hurts when the Earthlings use it...so get with Elton John and rocket on outta here, happy sailing! BY THE WAY, i absolutely love this philosophical diatribe o' wordology...you swabbed the deck of usage...i love it. great pome, great pome...

Loved how you set this up- every word is clear to me.

this one has POETRY written all over its face written in a language I cannot quite capture but it captures me.

An outstanding piece of craftsmanship and creative applause is well due!
