Every Day

by James A Holt

Every day it gets easier.
Falling back into the same
Old patterns of life.

Eight months isn't all that long.
You still left an impact
That I could never erase.

I gave you so much.
All you left for me in your
Wake was silence.

I hope you are truly happy.
Deserving that much is the
Least I can hope for.

Every day I continue my endeavors.
My life is not meant
To be lived alone.

are we not always truly alone within our own skin? Like this:)

I like the simple approach to this poem, the passage of time with the implied healing, and the use of "every day" for moving forward. Thank you.
