Kissed Anew

by Julie Adams

When his warm, gentle lips purse to touch my flesh
I can feel my skin softly swoon towards him,
eager as a flower to press and savor his love
in the soil of my body’s sensory memory.

Again and again, I draw those lips to me—
insatiable, insistent, intimate; the allure
bubbles under the skin, valleys of molten ruby lava
aglow in these veins, winding red ivy vines

from my garden to his and back, the leaves flutter
like scarlet butterflies in the air between our cheeks.
And our smiling crescent mouths arch like the trellis
where we connect and taste love, awash with light.

Embracively tender and romantic. I miust admit that, "soil of my body’s sensory memory" is a wonderful idea. Delighted. Thanks.

This spring, your romance, it is the stuff that lyrical poetics are made of. smh

Hey, didn't I write this? No?? Well, then, I wish I had! ;-) Earthy sweetness, and just enough over the top. Nice!

Spring is in the air. Wonderfully romantic. Simple but elegant!

Quite, quite divine... Thank you.

I love how the words weave themselves like vines around the inspiration. The various verbal and visual combinations help tone down the syrup, but just enough to keep it just right, sweet for the pallet.

Such vivid imagery. Great wording as well. I can feel the passion in your words. Kissed anew indeed.
