corralled

by George Hoerner

not far from
Jackson Hole
it ran for miles
down route 191
from Hoback
with few breaks

all the way to
Rock Springs
and beyond
onto the interstate
at route 80
as if intending
to encircle all
living things

but the antelope
simply took an
extra long stride
and seemingly
with no effort
rose over
the fence
unfettered
by restrictions

...and i never saw him coming. what a delicious read, george...the word grace can be seen in this vision of roads & fences(two hard things) juxtaposed with the softness of [gliding] grace, what a well painted pic.

You painted a picture with well crafted words. I can see the road and the antelope- an excellent write, George- thank you.

oooo...oooo...oooo... this is so very yummy. Love the construction naming the animal at the end. I have been on so many trips to the west - blessed with the site of these beautiful creatures dotting the far landscape - admiring their freedom. Thanks, George. This is wondrous.

My part of the country - I see this all clearly. They are a beautiful animal. Thank you, George.

Aloha George, Isn't nature wonderful? And all the living things who live in the nature wonderland... Just a thought as I was reading through... alisa ;-0
