Top o' the Day to Ya by Kristina WoodhillSpring
brings out your exclamation points,
paints them a garish
Irish green;
blows them dry
with haunting banshee
winds
only a glowing daffodil
can top and trump,
sun fanning out
from each lilting petal,
drawing my
sappy heartbeat nigh
for your puckered
encore
of tu
bright, bright
red
lips

Posted by George Hoerner on 03/18/10 at 12:35 AM Back at you Kristina and I must say if the Irish spring of green nearly matches by half that of the English spring I've seen then it would nearly make your eyes turn green just by looking. Good write lady. |
Posted by Shannon McEwen on 03/18/10 at 02:31 AM lovely, happy St Patricks to you! |
Posted by Joan Serratelli on 03/18/10 at 04:24 PM Yes; SPRING has sprung! What a delightful day it was yesterday. Today is even warmer. St. Patrick's Day brings out the "Irish" in all of us. Great write, as always. |
Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 03/18/10 at 10:28 PM Ah yes, the hounds of Spring are on Winter's traces! As Yeats said, "Irish poets, learn your trade, Sing whatever is well made." Bravo! |
Posted by Julie Adams on 03/19/10 at 04:07 AM I love this piece, ur word choices, colors, and imagery are so intricate and pleasing, they beg to be read again and again! Great St. Patrick's Day piece...all the best, jewels xo |
Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 03/20/10 at 01:41 AM Top of the mornin' to you! From garish green to two lips of bright red! Reminds me that during the N.Myrtle Beach St. Patrick's Parade this year a lady was handing out two large red lips with a shamrock attached. |
