figgering it out

by Charlie Morgan

wondering which snowflake was here first;
that's the one i'm looking for, the culprit.
i hear they're like blackbirds: first, just one.
that one produces a telephone line of them.

bundled-up against a wind,
i slow my troubles so they
can walk with me; they get
cold if i leave them in my car.

it was warm, somewhere;
wish i knew where; i'd go.
my plan: get warm. then, even
it all by sitting under the a.c.

a day measured in memory of moments;
makes the day complete; whereas,
a moment measured in days means
you need to be on medication.

70 % chance of rain today;
100% chance of rain tonight.
170% chance of rain in one day;
i have to call a mathematician.

a Bob Dylan song reverberates in my head;
dogs wail; cats cringe but i got rhythm.
so, sing i do...and they pay the price
of having ears; and good taste.

wiped my mouth of cares; a grin was uncovered.
it was upside down; something i can't wear.
so one flip and i's happy. the lark flew overhead;
exclaiming my happiness to the fields below.

My joke used to be: if you want to know the weather; just go outside! I loved this one. It's suppossed to snow tonight. I think I'll hide- well written- liked this one bunches- thanks.

You are the ultimate weather man, Charlie. I don't know many others who can simply open their eyes and produce a 100% chance that there will be clouds, and rain, and snow, and heat, moist, and dry displayed in stunning array in their library or even in a single pome. I love the second stanza almost as much as the last. Thanks Harold Taft, you're the best... I mean... Chaz.

I'm with Shannon; #2 is my favorite although #3 tried to snuggle back into a 2.5, you know it's the trouble with attraction to attraction. Great writin darlin! I just love how you write on stuff relevant to my yesterday the day before. Highest ratings!

Love it, Love it. We have a sayng in Missouri, "if you don't like the weather today, wait 24 hours, it'll be completely different." Good write, as always, Chaz

February was harsh in more ways than one so I identified with s2 as well, but I can't help but grin now man, singing to that song in my head now...or the one on the radio hope the office doesn't mind. Thanks C. smh
