Sunsleep

by Rachel Bennett

The sun forgot to shine today -
Slipped his mind to show up;
Slumbering in soft, stretched sheets,
He peeked through slanted slats
Cloistered in clumsy, clustered clouds.

Tossing and turning and tumbling
Through comfy cumulus fractus dreams,
He hit snooze, smiled, and snored.

This well-written poem says it all about here where I live, Ms.Bennett.

As a life long sky and cloud watcher, I really enjoyed this piece Rachel. Love how you've personified the Sun, and the choice of cloud vocabulary...imagery. Adds to favorites.

A well executed exercise in alliteratives, you make this sun do so much more than simply grace the heavens. Thanks for this!
