I love this, it is so lyrical and the images the poem evokes are classic! You certainly have a way with words!

Not being a determinist, I believe God has given us a choice. Ours to make. Thought provoking indeed! (Did you mean teeming rather than teaming? Either could fit I suppose.)

Although I love the whole of this poem, the third stanza seems to hit home the most. I hear in that fourth verse an echo of Gabriel Marcel and other Existential philosophers. And finally, I hate to say it, but I am not nearly the optimist I used to be and that last verse reflects a place I have gone in recent weeks as i observe and contemplate what is happening at home and abroad.
