| Posted by Glenn Currier on 11/11/09 at 03:05 AM Although I love the whole of this poem, the third stanza seems to hit home the most. I hear in that fourth verse an echo of Gabriel Marcel and other Existential philosophers. And finally, I hate to say it, but I am not nearly the optimist I used to be and that last verse reflects a place I have gone in recent weeks as i observe and contemplate what is happening at home and abroad.
