53 fools by Charlie Morgan...say they are on right now.
on?, what does that mean?
what if the box said they
were off. off where?
somebody's gotta know.
i don't but i should.
as there's a place
for everybody: where's
mine, yours and hers.
mmmm. under my desk?
in their room?
contemplating suicide?
mmmm. maybe murder.
cut off a poet's hand,
ask him to write a sonnet.
that's murder. ask if i care.
you'll find that i do; just
don't know what to care about.
i'm busy, talking to people
who have no ears or mind.
and could care less. 11/03/2009 Posted on 11/03/2009 Copyright © 2025 Charlie Morgan

Posted by Shannon McEwen on 11/03/09 at 05:15 PM Your thought process makes me laugh...and makes me dizzy! |

Posted by Glenn Currier on 11/07/09 at 06:42 PM I guess my mind if on vacation with my body and will find the fullness of your meaning somewhere in the mountains once the snow starts to fall, but for now I know one thing. The last stanza sure does strike home with me. This old fool has been there too often. Thanks, Chaz. |
