53 fools

by Charlie Morgan

...say they are on right now.
on?, what does that mean?

what if the box said they
were off. off where?

somebody's gotta know.
i don't but i should.

as there's a place
for everybody: where's
mine, yours and hers.

mmmm. under my desk?
in their room?
contemplating suicide?

mmmm. maybe murder.
cut off a poet's hand,
ask him to write a sonnet.

that's murder. ask if i care.
you'll find that i do; just
don't know what to care about.

i'm busy, talking to people
who have no ears or mind.
and could care less.

I couldn't care more. I love your mind!

Your thought process makes me laugh...and makes me dizzy!

Amusing, amazing, satirical! (Applied to the election in USA today appears some people have opened their minds and begun to listen!)

I guess my mind if on vacation with my body and will find the fullness of your meaning somewhere in the mountains once the snow starts to fall, but for now I know one thing. The last stanza sure does strike home with me. This old fool has been there too often. Thanks, Chaz.
