Mean Old Mr. Mustard (AKA) Sean Rooney

by Jennifer Ragan

Deep inside the crayon box
hidden far from view
lies Mean old Mr. Mustard
the color of yellow poo.

He bellowed from the crayon box,
“I’m not having fun!
They always pick bright yellow
to color in the sun!”

“I am the sharpest crayon.”
Cussed Mean old Mr. Mustard.
“No one colors with me.
I’m feeling rather flustered.”

“I wish that I was cherry red
or a pretty shade of blue.
But no, not me, I’ve got to be
the color of baby poo.”

Mean old Mr. Mustard
made his grand debut
But all the other crayons
met him with mixed review.

Like; What’s that crayons problem?
Did my eyes just see a cuss?
Who’s that Mean old Mr. Mustard?
Why’s he causing such a fuss?

Soon Mean old Mr. Mustard
made friends with tangerine
And Mean old Mr. Mustard
wasn’t being so mean.

Inside that box of crayons
Mean old Mr. Mustard met a crew
of kooky colorful crayons
who like to color with yellow poo.

Great imagination. This is wonderful Jennifer. Me (of all people)absolutely cringe at the p o o word. uggggh. haaa. I don't know why, I've always shy ed away from it. Great interpretation of the last couple of days for sure. You completely get what I was trying to say. Yours truly Mean Old Mr. M.

Mean Mister Mustard sleeps in the park, Shaves in the dark Trying to save paper. Sleeps in a hole in the road Saving up to buy him some clothes. Keeps a ten bob note up his nose, Such a mean old man, such a mean old man. A great take on a Beatles classic and a fun read about this mean colored crayon. I'd rather picture myself in a boat on a river, with tangerine trees and marmalade skies!

Just have to add another perfect to the list and whisper that I don't think I know the song, but I will have a go and looking it up. I do remember Magical Mystery Tour (guess that's the title) from a long time ago. Highest marks sweetheart!
