Encore

by Clara Mae Gregory

Some shall give deceit a hand,
clap and even stand.
In the turbid currents of disbelief,
you are slipping underneath
with your grasp just out of reach.

Wrapped in word’s inside Death’s Lair
And trapped under His palm,
Heavy lies scream for air
until they’re drowned in silent calm.
Last thoughts are lost in prayer.
Yet some shall give deceit a hand,
Clap and even stand
in turbid currents of disbelief.

superb notions all delicately pursued by eyes begging the more to stretch unto their fineries.

The first two lines are my favorites in this pencil drawing of realities that must be faced lest they pull us under. Thanks, Mel.
