Pumpkefide by Jennifer RaganI picked the plumpest pumpkin
From Peter’s Pumpkin Patch
A perfectly round pumpkin
Picked the biggest of the batch
I painted my prized pumpkin
A pair of puzzled eyes
A pretty shade of purple
Picked the proper shape and size
I prepared a pastel blue
On a pallet of pale rose
Gave the paint a little pat
Out popped a pointy nose
I placed a dab of peach
Upon a pearly pink
Polished up a pouty grin
As my pumpkin gave a wink
Painted pumpkins cannot wink.
How preposterous you say
Perhaps you’d be pumpkefide
If a pumpkin winked your way
