Are you a washer or a soaker?
by Glenn CurrierMy wife dislikes in me a trait
of not washing my dirty plate
when my eating has ceased
but it’s about elbow grease.
A body wants to rest after he eats
digest the food have some sweets
but pieces of food dry and cake
while taking my post-lunch break.
So being a logical sort of bloke
after resting and digesting I soak
that food-dried plate in water
to clean it later with less bother.
But sometimes, later doesn’t come
and floating on the plate is the scum.
She says I just want to provoke her

| Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 10/02/09 at 12:39 AM LOL! I'm a little bit of both. Have to be as my partner, like you, likes to just plop the dirty dishes beside the sink without rinsing them off. I rinse them off right away. Makes washing them later a lot easier. Another peeve I have is leaving a small amount of coffee at the bottom of a cup or mug. Would it be too much to ask to simply pour the rest down the drain and rinse the cup??? Thanks for the well worded reminder Glenn. When you have a loved one fighting Cancer, everything else like the above is insignificant. |
