Cow Catcher

by David Hill

All aboooard!

Janie has a lantern chin,
an extra sense
detecting sin.

It’s always
he she you they
he she you they
never me never me
never me never me
shoulda shouldn’t of
shoulda shouldn’t of
clickity clackity
clickity clackity

Woooo…Woooo…

She’s a steam train comin'
and I’m standin' on her track.

"Janie has a lantern chin, an extra sense detecting sin." - Ok, this is just charmingly silly and I don't know what a lantern chin is, but I love image of it. The repetition in the "he she you they" stanza sets the train beat in motion and you carry it on through. The ending leaves me still watching for the big wreck, and I like that feeling of anticipation and excitement.

Excellent use of train rhythms to deliver the message Dave. Priceless ending in those last two lines; love the implications and the pictures that spring to mind as a result. I too have found myself on those tracks...more than once! ;o)
