Polarity by Clara Mae GregoryCycling in polarities
is like being on drugs
floating high in a bubble.
Suddenly in a burstful pop
all comes crashing down,
sprinkling highs on the lows
of darkled sordid ground-
A confetti of plastic pieces
lies in snowdrifts all around,
drowning in a tearful bawling
from such vexatious falling.
Time allows the renewal
of this cycling polarity.
Only this time,
there may not be enough left
to heal all the bruises.

| Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 08/29/09 at 01:01 PM The best poetic description I've read on the subject of Bipolarism. Both factual and emotional at the same time. Those first five lines really hit close to home, having known several BPs through my son's treatment for Clincial Depression, one even having committed suicide at age 18. A truly sad and overwhelming experience for both of us, but I think one of the turning points for my son. |
| Posted by Elizabeth Jill on 08/29/09 at 01:36 PM You describe it well. Like Chris, this is the best poetic description I've read.
I have seen unhealed bruises. And I am humbled by the pure beautiful person such bruises seek to destroy. In my opinion, Grace pours upon such pained victims imprisoned by an awry Polarity's relentless onslaughts. Still, I wrap my arms around such wounded, for the beautiful gift such persons bring to our world. It is said that Bipolar afflicted people are among the most intensively creative on this earth.
Grace and Peace, Jill |

| Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 09/01/09 at 04:13 AM "A confetti of plastic pieces
lies in snowdrifts all around," - my favorite phrasing in this. As I learn more about this, I am more and more thankful. Those last three lines tell me about the fragile recovery each time one falls. Thank you for this.
