Writing is Digging

by Glenn Currier

Writing is digging
with the hope
of excavating a grain
of redemption.

It is, the connection that might lead us to a kind of oneness. Finding an order in the chaos we live in. Beautiful minimal.

Good way of looking at it. Life is pain...and writing is just an extension of that philosophy.

What we write is constantly modified by our reading, as if the aim of writing were to use what is already written as a launching pad for reading the writing to come. I write against a background of facets, some might redeem, most condem in one manner or another, both are honest. Thanks.

I loved turning this grain over in my mind, so much so, that I went with a shovel of define to the mound of excavate where the facets of diamond heat and pressure and time cast their flickering light upon the gloss of pearl, the most value gained from the irritation of but a grain...
Thanks for sharing your Pathetic shovel!
